About GALA:

God's Amazing Love Assembly (GALA) is a multicultural Community Church in the heart of Paisley, Scotland, UK, aimed at promoting God's love, nurturing fellowship, and unity among families in Paisley and, by extension, the world at large. We are passionate about serving our community and demonstrating God's amazing love to everyone so people can know God intimately and follow God passionately. We are a Bible-believing church, Holy Spirit inspired, and emphasis is also laid on worship, holiness, prayer, and living a fulfilling/impactful life. Our services which also feature a warm welcome, soul-lifting worship, and inspiring fellowship are conducted in English.

Context of the Role:

A position has arisen for the position of Minister of Religion to assist the pastorate in running the Church. The ministerial role is crucial in the development of the ministry. The candidate must be born again, and spirit filled. Must believe in GALA’s biblically based foundation of faith and belief.  The ideal candidate would hold a Diploma or degree in Theology/ have a basic pastoral training certificate and pastoral ordination certificate as an experienced church pastor or assistant church pastor. A good background in Music would be an added advantage and should demonstrate leadership experience gained from employment/other types of education. Strong knowledge and ability to speak, read, and write in English is required.

Purpose of the Post:

● Assists the pastorate in all ministry activity and helps GALA fulfil our vision and deliver our mission plan.

● Prepares and delivers sermons and talks and leads congregation in worship.

● Interprets doctrines and instructs intending clergy members in religious principles and practices.

● Performs marriages, funerals, baptisms, and other special church celebrations.

● Provides pastoral care to members of the congregation in their homes and hospitals and counsels those in need of spiritual or moral guidance.

● Undertakes administration and social duties as required.

Remuneration & Work Environment:

A position has arisen for the position of Skilled Worker- Multi-Instrumentalist, to assist in the worship ministry of the Church. This role is crucial and central to the spiritual life of the brethren in GALA and the development of the ministry. The candidate must be born again, and spirit filled. Must believe in GALA’s biblically based foundation of faith and belief.  The ideal candidate must write, arrange, orchestrate, conduct, and perform musical compositions encompassing several genres most especially contemporary Christian music, and would be someone who can play the keyboard and ideally another instrument. A worship leader who is innovative, inventive, and determined to find ways of harnessing the power of music to express and communicate. A good background in Music is desirable and strong knowledge and ability to speak, read, and write in English is required.

Purpose of the Post:

● Shepherds the GALA worship team,conceives and writes original music for church worship.

● Creates and cultivates the worship experience, combining Biblical truth with artistic elements to magnify the worth of God for the church. 

● Plays instrument as a soloist or as a member of a group or orchestra and understands various elements of audio, visual, media, and other areas of technology used in the church. 

● Scores music for different combinations of voices and instruments to produce the desired effect. 

● Leads with passion, recruits, trains, develops, and grows the GALA worship team with creativity and excellence. 

Remuneration & Work Environment:

A position has arisen for the position of Skilled Worker- Church Elder - Welfare and Housing Associate Professionals N.E.C, to 

provide pastoral care relating to religious denominations,

and a variety of welfare-related services including advice on benefits, health,

disability and residential care.

This role is crucial and central to the spiritual life of the brethren in GALA and the development of the ministry. The candidate must be born again, and spirit filled. Must believe in GALA’s biblically based foundation of faith and belief. Entry is possible with a variety of academic qualifications and/or experience.

Professional qualifications may be required for some posts. Background checks

including a CRB check are likely to be required for those working with vulnerable

adults and/or families.

Purpose of the Post:

● advises on rights and entitlements in relation to benefits, health, discrimination

and welfare.

● advises individuals and families experiencing problems about available resources

to assist them

● assists and liaises with professionals in social work, the probation service and

related welfare areas;

● organises day, residential and home care services;

● helps to put together care plans and follows professionals care plans

● maintains records and compiles reports on members.

● keeps up to date with legislation;

● performs pastoral care duties, preaches sermons and conducts some services in

accordance with the relevant faith or denomination.
